iQ4 Partners with Credential Engine to Advance the Value of Digital Credentials
This unique partnership will enable the transformation of education programs and hiring practices through the use of the iQ4 Achievement Wallet, which translates digital credentials into workforce skills, career pathways, and jobs.
iQ4 Corporation and Credential Engine announce a new business partnership that will accelerate the use and advance the value of digital credentials. This will provide significant benefits to job seekers, educators, and employers and will enhance the development and adoption of digital credentials, changing the way educators and employers think about learning and hiring. The underlying linked open data language called the Credential Transparency Description Language (CTDL) enables the iQ4 Achievement Wallet to translate credentials and degrees into workforce skills enabling a skilled and diverse workforce to grow and thrive.
iQ4’s Achievement Wallet helps learners and workers understand potential career pathways, especially those matched to employers' skills-based hiring needs, by enabling them to assemble and share their skills, education, experiences, training, credentials, and portfolio of work in one location, translated into skills that employers are seeking. iQ4’s Achievement Wallet supports multiple capabilities that make it easier for learners, educators, and employers to benefit from public CTDL credential information.
Specifically, these new capabilities include:
Detecting a Credential Transparency Identifier (CTID) contained within a digital credential added to the iQ4 Achievement Wallet,
Using the CTID to retrieve and parse CTDL information from the Credential Registry, such as credential requirements and competencies,
Incorporating relevant CTDL information into iQ4’s skill-focused smart algorithms for improved career pathway recommendations,
Including skills derived from CTDL data in the person’s individualized skills profile,
Displaying CTDL information to iQ4’s Achievement Wallet users and viewers,
Empowering people with recommended credentials and learning opportunity options based on iQ4’s skill algorithms to advance a person’s career pathway,
Providing employers with cohort and individual information on employee skills for retraining and upskilling.
"We are thrilled to partner with Credential Engine to advance the value of digital credentials," said Frank Cicio, Founder and CEO at iQ4 Corporation. "By leveraging the Credential Transparency Description Language schema and integrating it into our iQ4 Achievement Wallet, we can empower learners and workers to showcase their skills, education, and credentials more effectively. This partnership aligns with our vision of enabling seamless career pathways that match employers' skills-based hiring needs.”
According to Deb Everhart, Chief Strategy Officer at Credential Engine, "Our collaboration with iQ4 Corporation marks an important step forward for promoting the use of linked open data in the Credential Registry for understanding and applying the value of digital credentials. By leveraging the power of CTDL and the rich information it provides, digital credential holders directly benefit from the publishing activities of so many credential and skill providers. This partnership illustrates what’s possible in a more transparent and connected ecosystem."
This partnership is a significant advancement in the field of digital credentials, emphasizing the importance of open standard, transparent, linked data exchange for the benefit of all stakeholders.
