A Once in a Lifetime Opportunity
MISSION: DESIGN AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE FOR AN EXTREME ENVIRONMENT
You have been selected for consideration for an upcoming innovative approach in teaching the art and science of engineering design, to capture the imagination of K-12 students, some of whom have not previously considered an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
The program details are as follows:
NASA Astronaut and Distinguished Engineer, Dr. Charles Camarda, is teaming with key faculty from Stevens Tech University, NASA, the U.S. Air Force and Tier I Universities around the country to teach the art and science of engineering to high-school students in the greater NY area. By concentrating on conceptual design, this course will explore that aspect of engineering which is very critical for program success and which occurs very early in the problem solution process. It draws from the creative side or right-hemisphere of our brain to conceive innovative solutions to complex, multidisciplinary problems and, by doing so, allows us to experience the joy of exploration and discovery. The program is designed to instruct diverse teams to work together to rapidly explore, discover, learn and solve very complex problems by experimentation and failure.
The program will take place every Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM for Two (2) weeks
- Session I: July 18th - July 29th
- Session II: August 1st – August 12th
